Cynthia J. Bean, Ph.D.


 

Dr. Cynthia J. Bean has 20 years industry experience in management roles, and is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of South Florida, with special emphasis in the areas of organizational change, leadership development, and teams. Dr. Cindy Bean has taught both undergraduate and graduate classes in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development and Change, and Leadership and Teams. She founded BEAN&BEAN Consulting in 1989, and has been active in industry and academic organizations, and as a conference and professional speaker. She is a skilled and entertaining public speaker, specializing on topics such as team building, emotional intelligence, leadership, and the organization of the future.

Dr. Cindy Bean earned her undergraduate Marketing Degree from Canisius College, an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, focusing on organizational change, focusing on changes to virtual working and nomadic work modes. In September, 2005, Dr. Bean was recognized as "distinguished university-wide 2005 USF St. Petersburg Teacher of the Year". In 2006, her article "Leader Framing and Follower Sensemaking" was recognized by Emerald Management Reviews as one of the best 50 academic papers on management worldwide,
