BEAN&BEAN Use of Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI)

MBTI FOR ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT

Using the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) As a Tool

In today's business climate, organizations are in a state of continual change, which must be led by leaders who understand how to communicate with their team members. These individuals may have different personality types, resulting in different approaches to situations, and different communication styles. The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is an invaluable resource in supporting organization communication, leadership development, team building and emotional intelligence, through stimulating insights into personal styles and behavior patterns. Therefore, BEAN&BEAN workshops may include use of the MBTI personality type indicator, which is based upon the personality theories of Carl Jung, and which has been in widespread international use for over 25 years. Participants voluntarily complete the questionnaire prior to the seminar, and individual results are shared with each participant confidentially. Both Dr. Cindy Bean and Dr. Andrew Bean are trained and qualified to use MBTI.

** Alternative Option - BUILDING YOUR TEAM COMMUNICATION SKILLS
If a team communication focus is desired rather than an individual-interaction focus, the communication skills approach developed by Robert Kegan and Lisa Laskow Lahey (in the book “How We Talk Can Change the Way We Work”, 2001, Harvard Business School Press) can be substituted for the MBTI segments of this seminar.

The Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator was developed by Isabel Briggs Meyers and Katherine Briggs, and has been in use for some 60 years.
